IMPORTANT RESIDENT INFORMATION FOR HELL ON HILLS, 2017

RACE DAY: Saturday OCTOBER 28th, 8:00 am

This year’s race has a brand-new course and we are starting an hour earlier. We sat down with the Pittsburgh Police and Port Authority to devise a course that was safe, fun, and impacted the fewest amount of people.

Just like last year, there will be rolling closures. This means as soon as the runners clear the course, they will open the roads. No waiting until the end of the race! Emergencies will ALWAYS be allowed to get through! Our officers or volunteers will stop the race to allow emergency vehicles in and out of ANY location across the course. Because of the earlier start time, the ENTIRE COURSE should be clear by 9:30.

Don’t forget to come out and CHEER! We have people from all over running (and walking!) this race. Let’s show them that Beechview is PROUD of our community, we want to show it off, and let’s show them the kind of loving neighbors we are!!!

BEECHVIEW IS NOW HOME TO THE WORLD’S STEEPEST 5K, AND THE ONLY HALLOWEEN 5K IN THE CITY!! GET YOUR COSTUME ON AND BE A PART OF THE FUN!

I also invite all of you to the Epic After Party/Festival, held at Vanucci at the Finish Line. This is a COMMUNITY event and we want you there!!

An updated map of the course can be seen on the Hell on Hills homepage at www.hellonhills.com. See attached for a turn by turn of the course.

WE WILL BE POSTING NO PARKING SIGNS AND ASK THAT YOU DO NOT PARK ON THE COURSE DURING THE RACE. I CANNOT PROMISE YOU WON’T BE TOWED. If you have spare room in your driveway, do the neighborly thing and invite someone without off street parking to share your space. If you can’t find anything on the course, please park as close as you can off the course during the race. THIS WILL BE FOR AN HOUR, I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!! : )

If you have any additional questions or need any other information, please contact me at blruhe@gmail.com. We will be going door to door with flyers of this same information in the week before the race. THANK YOU, BEECHVIEW! Let’s show this City what we’re made of!
